June 1, 2017. The Italian American Athletic Club has quickly grown to 2,500+ members dedicated to the proposition that no youth should be prevented from playing competitive sports simply because of their financial or personal circumstances. Today, competitive sports are too expensive and/or too difficult for most 10 to 18 year-olds to participate in.
Our goal is to enable all youth to participate in competitive sports so that they will stay in school, avoid drugs, crime and prison. We know that competitive sports foster important social and life skills. The IAAC helps youth get on teams, provides equipment, transportation, and social support.
We believe in “doing well by doing good” –that is, making it easy and painless to help others. For example, our black Roman XX coin costs $20 and it can be used as $20 at a quickly growing list in great Italian (and Italian owned) restaurants that includes Trattoria Reggiano, The Italian American Club, and Carmine’s. The net cost to coinholders is zero: they painlessly help youth play sports.
We are now seeking to register 2,000 youth, ages 10 to 18, to participate in the new Drone Racing League and the street hockey league being formed to create awareness of hockey and to support the Golden Knights.
You too can help. This one’s important (and it’s free to join).
